FEMA Pulls 9/11 Coloring Book
(April 29) – The Federal Emergency Management Association has pulled a downloadable children’s coloring book amid complaints from parents over its depictions of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The book, titled ‘A Scary Thing Happened,’ is meant to teach disaster preparedness. It includes an illustration showing a building on fire with a plane flying toward a second building. The caption above reads, “You might hear about it again and again on the T.V. or radio or read about it in the newspaper.”
Scott,
I just found your radio show on gcn. I found gcn at new year’s a few months ago. I am just listening to your April 25 show with Barb. Very good.
I believe you are Scott Stevens, weather broadcaster from Pocatello. I was in Pocatello when you left your broadcasting job. This note is simply to send good wishes and congrats on your new show and your success in following your desires.
Times like this when you think, “Wow, the web is cool!”
Better add the show link to your wikipedia page! Maybe a more specific brief on just what you’ve uncovered/discovered concerning weather control as well.
Just to let you know: Cheering for your success!
God Bless You,
Lynn
Yeah, a scary thing happened… some idiot in DC thought it would be a good idea to utilize an artist’s interpretation of 9/11 for a coloring book. Wow, guys, really? It’s only been 7 3/4 years. Have we really been that numbed to what really went on that day? I’m not talking conspiracies here, just disaster. I lived in New Jersey at the time, (and I lived in Preston when Scott was still on the air in Pokie) and I remember that day really dang well. It was the “Where were you?” moment of my life, besides Challenger and Colombia. I worked in the Colgate Center, right across the water from the towers. I saw it. I saw too much. It’s not fodder for children’s books. Period.
