Is a Major Earthquake in North America Imminent? According to former USGS Geologist Jim Berkland, the upcoming Super Moon on March 19th coupled with magnetic field changes and the Vernal Equinox could spell disaster for certain areas, especially on the Ring of Fire, including San Francisco.  See http://www.foxbusiness.com/on-air/cavuto/transcript/major-earthquake-north-america-imminent.

How the Japan Earthquake Shortened Days on Earth: The massive earthquake that struck northeast Japan on Friday has shortened the length of Earth’s day by a fraction and shifted how the planet’s mass is distributed.  A new analysis has found that the intense temblor has accelerated Earth’s spin, shortening the length of the 24-hour day by 1.8 microseconds.  Also, initial data show that the earthquake moved Japan’s main island about 8 feet and shifted Earth’s axis by about six and a half inches, which will now cause the Earth to wobble a bit differently as it rotates.  Aftershocks may also contribute tiny changes to day length as well.
